Montevideo

Montevideo, sin apuro.

A capital with a riverfront promenade, old-town streets and a café on every corner — and a pace that leaves room for conversation.

A capital without the rush

Montevideo is Uruguay's capital and largest city, yet it feels relaxed. Its Rambla — a waterfront promenade stretching along the Río de la Plata — is where the city walks, runs and shares mate at sunset.

Culture you can practise in

Explore Ciudad Vieja's colonial and art deco streets, the Mercado del Puerto, theatres and museums. Weekly neighbourhood ferias are perfect for vocabulary, and February brings Carnival and murga.
